The Datalogic Magellan 8500 Omega features OmegaTek Productivity Technology, which is comprised of hardware and software innovations that significantly improve scanner performance by increasing the scanning speed and by improving the first pass read rates on hard-to-read barcodes. Competitive dual-plane scanners can only read 4 or 5 sides at once but the Datalogic Magellan 8500 Omega can simultaneously read the bottom, top, and all four sides of store items.
