Hi everyone, this is Jake Eichhorn with TDX Tech. Today we’re joined by our partner, POSBANK, a global provider of POS and self-service kiosk solutions for retail and hospitality environments.
We’re going to spend some time learning more about their company, their approach to kiosk technology, and how retailers are using self-service solutions to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
I’m here with Ben and Louis from POSBANK. Can you give us an overview and background of POSBANK?
Louis Tolston: I’ll let Ben start. He’s been here a lot longer than I have, and he actually came from our headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
Ben Eun: POSBANK is a Korean-based manufacturer of POS systems and kiosks. We distribute products in more than 120 countries. Everything is manufactured in Korea, and we serve Tier 1 and Tier 2 QSR and retail customers. We also provide solutions for airports in Korea, and you can find our products in virtually every state and many countries around the world.
Jake Eichhorn:
Can you explain some of the trends you’re seeing in the retail and hospitality industries?
Louis Tolston:
I’ll speak on the retail side, and then Ben can talk more about QSR. One of the biggest issues in retail right now is staffing. Retailers are looking for ways to improve the customer experience despite labor shortages. That’s where solutions such as queue management, fitting room management, and returns processing can help.
The biggest thing customers want is options. They want different ways to engage, whether digitally or in a brick-and-mortar store. On the QSR side, I’ll let Ben elaborate.
Ben Eun: If you go to a QSR restaurant today, there are a lot of options available. One way customers are looking for a better experience is through kiosks. Customers want time to explore their options. Menus have become increasingly complex, with many selections and customizations. With a kiosk, customers can take their time reviewing all the available condiments, add-ons, and other options before placing an order.
Jake Eichhorn: Today in our demo environment, we have the POSBANK Mazic K2150. Can you explain some of the features of this unit?
Ben Eun: Absolutely. We support both Windows and Android operating systems. The unit is available with Intel Celeron, Core i3, and Core i5 processors. We also offer optional features such as a camera and light indicator. These can be used together or separately. Customers can add a payment bracket on either the left or right side. We offer our own universal bracket, and the unit supports a variety of scanners and printers. We also support audio navigation devices for ADA compliance. Overall, it’s a very customizable solution.
Jake Eichhorn: And it’s thin and looks great as well.
Ben Eun:Yep.
Jake Eichhorn: Louis, can you explain what kinds of environments work best for this solution?
Louis Tolston: The ideal environment is really any location with available floor space. That includes brick-and-mortar retail stores, warehouses, distribution centers, hospitals, and healthcare facilities. These environments benefit from managing customer traffic flow. Solutions like this help direct customers throughout a facility, reduce wait times, and create a more frictionless experience. Whether it’s a retail store, warehouse, distribution center, or healthcare facility, this technology helps improve the overall customer journey.
Jake Eichhorn: Earlier, you talked about providing options for both customers and end users. Is this a one-size-fits-all solution?
Louis Tolston: No. One of the biggest changes in today’s market is that retailers no longer have to settle for whatever standard solution is available. The end user can now dictate exactly what they need through customized hardware from POSBANK, software from cleverQ, and integration services from TDX Tech. It’s a complete 360-degree solution. Whatever the customer needs can be built around their requirements. The solution is customized, personalized, and designed specifically for that end user. They don’t have to adapt to a standard product anymore. Instead, the technology is adapted to their needs. There’s really nothing else in the industry offering that same level of flexibility and go-to-market capability.
Jake Eichhorn: So you listen to customers and adapt based on their needs?
Louis Tolston: Absolutely.
If a customer needs a camera, a different screen size, or specific software functionality, we can accommodate that. The customer can tell us exactly what they need, and together we can build the right solution.
Jake Eichhorn: TDX Tech deploys and scales solutions across North America. Can you give us a few key considerations for a successful rollout?
Louis Tolston: There are three important considerations.
First is the business objective. What is the organization trying to achieve with the solution? Second is the footprint. How much space is available in the store, warehouse, or facility?
Third, and most importantly, is hardware and software integration. Understanding those requirements upfront allows you to determine the best personalized solution for the customer.
Jake Eichhorn: TDX Tech is a leader in selecting, installing, and deploying technology across North America. The industry is evolving rapidly, both in terms of technology and the solutions available to end users. What makes POSBANK different?
Louis Tolston: What sets us apar is that customers aren’t limited to what the market dictates. Customers can create a personalized solution for themselves. Traditional, off-the-shelf products don’t always provide that flexibility.
If a customer needs a specific feature or capability, our in-house design and engineering team can create it. That’s what helps set our customers apart. Rather than being constrained by a standard product, they can build the solution they truly need.
Jake Eichhorn: So you’re not limited to what’s inside the box?
Louis Tolston: Exactly. Whatever a customer needs, we can work with them to develop and create it. It’s their own personalized solution, something that many other companies simply can’t offer.
Ben Eun: For me, after spending years at POSBANK, I’ve consistently seen the quality of our products.
We receive very few RMA requests, and customers rarely return hardware. I think that speaks directly to the quality of our solutions.
Jake Eichhorn: Thanks again to the POSBANK team for joining us today. At TDX Tech, we help retailers successfully deploy and support technologies like these through services including staging and integration, nationwide deployment, field services, logistics, and ongoing maintenance programs. If you’d like to learn more about POSBANK kiosk solutions or discuss how these technologies could fit into your retail environment, reach out to the TDX Tech team. We’d be happy to help.
